Msmes In Tier II & III Cities See 20% Revenue Growth After Joining ONDC: Easypay

(MENAFN- KNN India) New Delhi, May 13 (KNN) Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) located in Tier II and III cities have experienced an average 20 percent growth in revenues following their integration with the government's Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), according to payment solutions provider EasyPay on Monday.

Data released by EasyPay, which joined ONDC as a seller app last year, identified Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra as the top three states with the highest number of MSMEs joining the ONDC platform.

The company has announced plans to integrate over 100,000 businesses onto the platform by the financial year 2026-27.

"We believe that every MSME, no matter how small or remote, should have equal access to the tools and opportunities of the digital economy. ONDC is a game-changer in that journey, and we're here to ensure that small businesses get on boarded and flourish," said Nilay Patel, Founder and Managing Director, EasyPay, in an official statement.

To support smaller businesses in their digital transition, EasyPay provides comprehensive assistance including door-to-door outreach through field agents, vernacular workshops, on-demand digital support, and a comprehensive solution suite featuring storefront creation, payment integration, capital access, and analytics.

Patel further emphasised, "Our collaboration with ONDC demonstrates that commerce can be democratic, decentralised, and powered by small-town India."

EasyPay's initiatives align with ONDC's broader mission to increase MSME participation on its platform.

Last year, the MSME Ministry launched the Trade Enablement & Marketing (TEAM) scheme with a budget allocation of Rs 277.35 crore for a three-year period from 2024 to 2027.

The scheme aims to bring 500,000 MSMEs onto the ONDC platform through awareness workshops and hands-on assistance, with 250,000 of these slots specifically designated for women-owned micro and small enterprises.

Launched in April 2022, ONDC was designed to promote open networks across all aspects of digital goods and services exchange.

The platform utilises open network protocols to enable seamless interaction between participants, allowing buyers and sellers from different platforms to conduct transactions with each other through standardised APIs.
