Air France Relaunches Flights to Israel
(MENAFN) Air France officially resumed its flights to Israel on Tuesday, with a plane departing from Paris Charles de Gaulle and arriving at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv by evening, the airline confirmed. This relaunch occurs while numerous international carriers continue to modify their operations in response to ongoing regional instability.
The French national airline, along with several other carriers, had halted its Tel Aviv service starting May 4 after a missile launched by the Houthi group from Yemen detonated near Ben Gurion Airport.
"Air France is constantly monitoring developments in the geopolitical situation in the region to ensure the highest level of flight safety and security," the airline stated.
Meanwhile, Germany’s Lufthansa Group—which includes Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings—declared on Monday that it will extend its suspension of flights to Israel until at least June 15.
British Airways announced on Friday that it will keep all flights to Israel canceled through the end of July. Similarly, Ryanair, United Airlines, and Air India have postponed their return flights, targeting mid-June or later for resumption.
