Nawrocki Could Change Tone On Ukraine After Assuming Presidential Powers - Duda

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) This was stated by the head of the Polish state Andrzej Duda, who spoke at a press conference with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"From behind the presidential table, the world looks a little different than from the position of any other Polish politician, and especially from the position of a candidate during any election. Therefore, the point of location affects the point of view," Duda emphasized, answering the question of whether he had spoken with Nawrocki about Ukraine, in particular in the context of the newly elected President's critical view of Ukraine's membership in NATO and the EU.

According to Duda, he speaks with Nawrocki quite often, when both politicians have time for conversations.

“We have already previously discussed this topic (Ukraine - ed.),” Duda emphasized.

He added that it is necessary to wait five weeks, after Nawrocki becomes a full-fledged president and takes the first steps in the context of relations with Ukraine.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, President Zelensky assured that the newly-elected President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, would receive an invitation to visit Ukraine.

Duda, whose term in office expires on August 5, is in Ukraine on a farewell visit.
